06/24/2014: Assailants opened fire on a military checkpost in Bulabulin area, Borno state, Nigeria. At least 40 people, including 16 soldiers and 24 assailants, were killed, several others were injured, and an unknown number of soldiers were abducted in the attack. The outcome of the abduction is unknown. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Boko Haram.
