08/23/2014: An explosive device planted in the vehicle of General Ahmed Mohammed Saleh al-Omari detonated in Al Mansura neighborhood, Aden city, Adan governorate, Yemen. Al-Omari, a military officer, was killed and his son was injured in the blast. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).
