Incident Summary:

08/27/2014: Assailants opened fire on Afghan Local Police (ALP) officers in Sinay town, Ghor province, Afghanistan. This was one of two attacks in Pasaband district on the same day. At least 25 people, including five officers and 20 assailants, were killed across both assaults. Additionally, at least 20 officers were taken hostage and their whereabouts are unknown. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources suspect that the Taliban was behind the incident.
