12/14/2014: Assailants kidnapped Mas'ud Uqayl and Furhad Qujar in Qamishli city, Al Hasakah governorate, Syria. Uqayl, a camera operator for Rudaw Media Network, was released on September 21, 2015, while the fate of Qujar, a television correspondent for Rudaw, remains unknown. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the attack.
