Incident Summary:
04/11/2015: A suicide bomber detonated near the gates of the Baiji Oil Refinery outside of Bayji, Saladin governorate, Iraq. Following the blast, additional assailants then attacked the refinery. At least 18 assailants were killed and an unknown number of others were injured in the ensuing clash with security forces, which lasted until April 13, 2015. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the incident.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
