05/17/2015: Assailants attacked Arak gas field in Palmyra district, Homs governorate, Syria. This was one of two gas fields overtaken by the same assailants on this date. At least 56 security forces were killed across the two clashes, which lasted until May 18, 2015. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the attacks.
