08/02/2015: Assailants attacked a vehicle transporting General Adolphe Nshimirimana and his bodyguards in Kamenge neighborhood, Bujumbura city, Bujumbura Mairie province, Burundi. At least four people, including Nshimirimana, the head of the president's personal security, and three of his bodyguards were killed in the incident. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
