09/08/2015: Assailants abducted two Indian doctors, Pravash Ranjan Samal and Ramamurthy Kosanam, in Sirte city, Libya. Samal was released on September 17, 2015 while Kosanam was rescued on February 21, 2017. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the Tripoli Province of the Islamic State.
