Incident Summary:
09/17/2015: An explosive device detonated at the Wat Sangkhasitthitharam temple near Tanyong Mat subdistrict, Rangae district, Narathiwat province, Thailand. This was one of five attacks in Rangae district and one of two coordinated attacks at the temple on this date. Two people were killed and 14 people were injured across the five attacks. No group claimed responsibility for the incidents; however, sources attributed the attacks to separatists.

Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack. For example, in a typical successful bombing, the bomb detonates and destroys property and/or kills individuals, whereas an unsuccessful bombing is one in which the bomb is discovered and defused or detonates early and kills the perpetrators.
