Incident Summary:
09/21/2015: A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden vehicle near a People's Protection Units (YPG) checkpoint on the outskirts of Ras al-Ain city, Al Hasakah governorate, Syria. This was one of two similar attacks near the same gas station on this date. In addition to the two bombers, at least four civilians were killed and four others were injured across both blasts. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attacks to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
