Incident Summary:
10/07/2015: Assailants attacked civilians in Tigherifen village, Diebock municipality, Gao region, Mali. One civilian was killed and four were kidnapped in the attack. The whereabouts of the kidnap victims are unknown. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Tuaregs, indicating that the attack was carried out in revenge for the killing of ten people associated with the Coordination of Azawad Movements (CMA) in July.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
