10/18/2015: Assailants opened fire on Colonel Ataya Al-Arabi outside of his home in Ajdabiya, Wahat district, Libya. Al-Arabi, the Ajdabiya military intelligence chief, was killed in the attack. The Barqa Province of the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that Colonel Ataya Al-Arabi was targeted because the group believed he was an apostate
