01/11/2016: Assailants abducted Mohammad Bashir al-Aani and his son from their residence in Deir ez-Zor, Syria. Both hostages were killed on March 10, 2016. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
