02/05/2016: Assailants attacked a military base in Sangin district, Helmand province, Afghanistan. At least eight soldiers were killed, seven were injured, and nine others were captured during the attack. The outcome of the kidnapping is unknown. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Taliban.
