Incident Summary:

02/20/2016: Assailants opened fire on a Philippine Army (PA) patrol base in Bayabao, Lanao del Sur, Philippines. At least eight people, including two soldiers and six assailants, were killed and six other soldiers were injured in the ensuing clash. The Maute Group claimed responsibility for the attack. Sources also attributed the incident to the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), which denied involvement.
