04/18/2016: A sniper opened fire on Colonel Umar Thamir's convoy in Tikrit, Saladin, Iraq. Thamir, a volunteer fighter commander, was not harmed, although one of his guards was injured in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
