05/07/2016: A landmine detonated and assailants opened fire on a military convoy in Gamay, Northern Samar, Philippines. One soldier was killed and four people, including a solider, were wounded in the attack. This was one of two related attacks in the area on this day. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the New People's Army (NPA).
