Incident Summary:

05/08/2016: Assailants opened fire at an African National Congress (ANC) meeting in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Windile Ngubeni, an ANC Youth League regional deputy chairperson, was killed and Mafika Mndebele, the ANC regional secretary, was injured in the assault. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
