07/01/2016: Assailants attacked an Afghan Local Police (ALP) checkpoint in Maywand district, Kandahar, Afghanistan. At least nine people, including five officers and four assailants, were killed in the ensuing clash. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the Taliban.
