Incident Summary:

08/04/2016: Assailants opened fire on a Philippine Army (PA) patrol in Rizal, Monkayo district, Compostela Valley, Philippines. At least six people, including four soldiers and two assailants, were killed and two others were wounded in the ensuing clash. The New People's Army (NPA) claimed responsibility and stated that the attack was carried out in retaliation for the harassment of civilians by the military.
