Incident Summary:

08/07/2016: An explosive device detonated near a United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) patrol outside Kidal town, Mali. There were no reported casualties in the blast. This was one of two attacks targeting MINUSMA peacekeepers in Kidal region on the same day. Ansar al-Dine (Mali) claimed responsibility for the incidents. Source also suspected that the attacks were carried out by Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM).
