Incident Summary:

08/18/2016: An explosives-laden vehicle detonated near a police headquarters in Ipekyolu area, Van, Turkey. At least three people were killed and 70 people were injured in the blast; the victims included police officers and civilians. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). The Turkish government claimed that Fethullah Gülen (in exile) and the "Fetullah Terrorist Organization" were responsible for the attack.
