Incident Summary:

08/26/2016: Assailants opened fire on an Afghan National Army (ANA) checkpoint in Shirin Tagab district, Faryab, Afghanistan. At least six people, including a deputy police chief, a soldier, and four assailants, were killed and 11 other people, including two soldiers, two officers, and seven assailants, were injured in the assault. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the Taliban.
