09/10/2016: Assailants abducted Haji Zahir Khan, a tribal elder, from his home in Garmsir, Helmand, Afghanistan. Khan was shot and killed shortly after the abduction. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, local officials attributed the attack to the Taliban, which denied involvement.
