10/20/2016: Assailants abducted Youssef al-Bawab, a linguistics professor and political activist, in Sanaa, Amanat Al-Asemah, Yemen. Al-Bawab was sentenced to death on July 9, 2019. It is unknown if this sentence has been carried out. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the abduction to Houthi extremists (Ansar Allah).
