11/15/2016: Assailants detonated an explosive device and then opened fire on military forces between Bitta and Piridang, in Gwoza, Borno, Nigeria. At least one military officer was killed and eight soldiers were injured in the assault. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Boko Haram.
