12/14/2016: Assailants attacked a Chinese mining site in Morona Santiago, Ecuador. At least one police officer was killed and seven people, including five police officers and two soldiers, were injured in the incident. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the Shuar extremists.
