Incident Summary:
12/16/2016: Assailants and suicide bombers equipped with explosives-laden vehicles raided Hayy al-Bakir, Mosul, Nineveh, Iraq. This was one of eight coordinated attacks in the area on the same day. At least 100 assailants were killed in three of the eight events. No group claimed responsibility for the incidents; however, sources attributed the attacks to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
