12/17/2016: Assailants opened fire on a vehicle carrying airport workers in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Six people, including five female airport employees, were killed in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, an official attributed the attack to the Taliban. The group initially denied involvement in the attack, though the assailants were later arrested and confessed to being members of the Taliban.
