12/31/2016: Assailants attacked military positions in Garoua, Diffa, Niger. At least 15 people, including three soldiers and 12 assailants, were killed and seven other people were injured in the ensuing clash. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to Boko Haram.
