Incident Summary:

01/09/2017: Assailants boarded a fishing vessel and forced the crew to recite Muslim prayers off the coast of Siromon Island in Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines. At least eight crew members who could not recite the prayers were killed in the attack. The remaining seven crew members were given flotation devices and allowed to jump off the boat. No group claimed responsibility for the incident.
