01/18/2017: Assailants abducted Kyaw Zin Htun, a schoolteacher, from Nantmaphyit, Kachin, Myanmar. Htun was killed shortly after the kidnapping. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, locals attributed the attack to the Kachin Independence Army (KIA), which the group denied.
