Incident Summary:

02/07/2017: An explosive device detonated as Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) soldiers were attempting to defuse another device in Tacayan, Capiz, Philippines. Following the blast, assailants then opened fire on the soldiers. At least one soldier was killed and two other soldiers were injured in the attack. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the incident to the New People's Army (NPA).
