Incident Summary:
03/23/2017: Assailants attacked a bazaar and set fire to several shops in Khwaja Baha Wuddin, Takhar, Afghanistan. This was one of two related attacks in the area on the same date. At least five assailants were killed and seven people, including three assailants and four police officers, were injured across the attacks. No group claimed responsibility for the incidents; however, sources attributed the attacks to the Taliban.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
