04/22/2017: Assailants opened fire on Rodrigo Machuca, a village chairperson, in San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines. Machuca and one assailant were killed in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the New People's Army (NPA).
