Incident Summary:
05/23/2017: Assailants attacked a Somali National Army (SNA) base in Lambar 50, Lower Shebelle, Somalia. This was one of two coordinated attacks in the area on this date. At least five assailants and one soldier were killed in the ensuing clashes. Additionally, at least 25 civilians were abducted in this assault, and the outcome of the kidnapping is unknown. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the incidents.

Criteria 1
