05/25/2017: Assailants fired rockets that landed and detonated in Jorah neighborhood, Deir ez-Zor, Syria. At least four children were killed and three other children were injured in the attack. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the incident to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
