05/31/2017: An explosive device detonated targeting Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) personnel responding to an earlier explosion in Lamu, Kenya. At least two soldiers were killed and another was injured in the blast. This was one of three related attacks in Lamu on the same day. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the incident.
