05/31/2017: Assailants set fire to a school in Fafi, Garissa, Kenya. At least 2 teachers were kidnapped in the incident. One of the hostages was killed shortly after the abduction, while the whereabouts of the second hostage are unknown. This was one of three related attacks in Fafi on the same day. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the incidents.

Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
