06/01/2017: Snipers opened fire on fleeing civilians in Zanjili neighborhood, Mosul, Nineveh, Iraq. At least 163 people were killed in the assault. This was one of two attacks targeting fleeing civilians in Zanjili on the same day. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the incidents.
