06/01/2017: An explosive device detonated near an Iraqi Armed Forces patrol in Ash Shamsiyah, Diyala, Iraq. At least four soldiers were injured in the blast. This was one of two bombings in Ash Shamsiyah within 10 minutes of each other. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the attacks.
