07/01/2017: Assailants abducted 12 fleeing civilians in Hawijah district, Kirkuk, Iraq. All 12 hostages were set on fire and killed a short time after the kidnapping. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
