Incident Summary:

08/07/2017: An explosive device detonated near Philippine soldiers in Casili, Gubat district, Sorsogon, Philippines. Following the blast, assailants then attacked the soldiers. At least two soldiers were killed and seven other soldiers were injured in the blast and ensuing clash. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the New People's Army (NPA) and noted that the attack corresponded with the burials of two New People's Army (NPA) members who were killed by security personnel.
