08/17/2017: An explosive device detonated targeting a military patrol vehicle in Tongomayel, Sahel, Burkina Faso. Three soldiers were killed and two soldiers were injured in the blast. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Ansar al-Islam (Burkina Faso).
