08/18/2017: Five assailants attacked a religious cleric and political activist in Chamchamal, Sulaymaniyah governorate, Iraq. Mullah Saman Kermiani was wounded in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources noted that the targeted political activist advised citizens not to partake in a referendum.
