Incident Summary:

08/25/2017: Four assailants, armed with grenades, firearms, and knives attacked the Imam Zaman Mosque in Qala-e Najara, Kabul, Afghanistan. In addition to the four assailants, at least one of whom was a suicide bomber, 28 people were killed and 50 others were injured in the attack. The Khorasan Chapter of the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the incident, stating that the attack was in response to a cleric promoting the killing of Khorasan Chapter members.
