Incident Summary:

08/26/2017: Assailants, including suicide attackers, armed with grenades and assault rifles raided the District Police Lines in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, India. At least 11 people, including three assailants and eight police officers, were killed and five police officers were injured in the assault. The Afzal Guru Squad, a subgroup of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that the attack was carried out in retaliation for the death of Afzal Guru in February 2013.
