09/20/2017: Assailants abducted Santanu Bhowmik, a journalist, as he was covering a protest in Mandai, Tripura, India. Bhowmik was killed shortly after the kidnapping. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT).
