10/15/2017: Assailants hijacked a boat transporting supplies for security personnel near Entaguda, Odisha, India. An unknown number of crew members were injured in the attack. The boat's captain was also held hostage for several hours before being released. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Communist Party of India - Maoist (CPI-Maoist).

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
Criterion 2

Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
