12/12/2017: Approximately 100 assailants attacked volunteer fighter barracks in Tall Safouk, Nineveh, Iraq. This was one of two related attacks targeting volunteer fighters in Tall Safouk on this date. Thirteen volunteer fighters were killed across both attacks; additionally, the assailants sustained an undetermined number of casualties. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the incidents.
